The year is 2115.

The earth isn't what it used to be.
During World War III, nuclear bombs were dropped on every continent's major fault lines. Earthquakes set off tidal waves and volcanoes, including a dormant volcano in Yellowstone National Park the middle of the USA. Now the sky is gray with ash, and nothing grows. Not even grass.
The radiation from the nuclear war caused a pandemic among the remaining population. Most mammals that catch it either die or become something else . . . bloodthirsty creatures, but not zombies. They're too intelligent to be called that.
The disease was so rampant, the governments of the world had no choice but to pack people onto spaceships and venture out into the unknown. But the only the VIPs got to go. Everyone else was left behind to die.
Ten years later, scientists return to Earth to see how it has fared. They expect everyone to be dead, and bring military forces to protect them from the creatures, but what they find leaves them speechless.
There are survivors . . . many of them. While there area few loners, gangs and even towns of people fight to keep themselves and their families safe.
And they aren't very happy about being left behind.
So, who do you choose to be? A returning scientist or explorer? Or a survivor?
