Legends tell of a world that was peaceful, where everyone was happy.
Then something went wrong. People were born with special abilities, called Gifts, and the Gifted were hated, rejected, and even hunted down. Ashland became at war with itself, a war that would last for generations . . .
It is years later, you might be Gifted, trying to stay alive and hoping that someday you will meet a friend. Danger is all around, wild animals, deserts, starvation, and things that send shivers down your spine. Or you might be someone else . . . Bounty Hunters, Assassins, and others. They have been sent out to capture the Gifted, and bring them back to Zeblar, a neighboring country ruled by evil.
The only place that seems safe for the Gifted is Slithwood, a thick forest with a town nearby. This is where our story begins.
The Gifts are :
Fire - can withstand and control fire, heat, and occasionally lightning. Hates water.
Water - can breathe and control water, ice, and occasionally blood. Hates fire.
Earth - can control earth, plants, and talk to animals. Hates air.
Air - can control air. occasionally has wings, can fly. Hates earth.
My Avatar senses are tingling ...
Metal - can control anything metal. Crazy strong and skilled with the sword, but gets tired easily.
Mind - can read minds, and lift things without touching them. Sometimes can take control of someone's mind and control them, but both parties pass out afterwards.
Shape-shift - Turns into any animal within a certain family (eg, cats would include lions, panthers, house cats). Turns back into a human after two hours.
Teleportation - can teleport anywhere within a one mile radius.
Weather - can control weather, but it's effect takes time and doesn't last much longer than 30 minutes.
If you think you have a worthy idea for a Gift, ask and we might add it!

Fun Fact!
This was our first RPG ever! Way back when I was but a wee lass, on a website called Howrse, I got into RPGs and one Christmas (if I remember correctly) I came up with this and posted it on my Howrse forum. Mind you, I was 11, so my cliche meter wasn't very effective. Apparently everyone liked it because by the time it had been around for a while, I had maybe seven or eight people (most of whom I didn't even know) joining and loving it, each with two or three characters. We had so much fun. We redid it again and again, and even now, the characters Stipes and I created are still around as some of my favorites.
